Mary’s Stew
1 – 1 ½ lb. stew meat
8 – 10 small red potatoes (I used regular potatoes cut up)
1 can creamy onion soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 tsp. Kitchen Bouquet
¼ envelope dry onion soup mix
8 oz fresh mushrooms (slice & add 30 minutes before serving)
(I usually omit since I don’t have on hand)
1 lb. carrots peeled & cut into pieces (I just add a bunch of
cutup carrots or baby carrots)
1 large onion peeled & cut into 6 pieces
2 cans of water
3/4 to 1-1/2tsp. dill weed OR 1/2 tsp. minced garlic
1 box frozen peas
1 can peeled tomatoes
Brown stew meat and salt and pepper it. Mix all ingredients
except mushrooms and peas in crockpot. Follow directions for crockpot
or bake in regular pot in oven. Add mushrooms and peas 30 minutes
before serving.
Note: You can use canned vegetables, drained, (peas, carrots,
beans, mixed vegetables, etc) and put them in 30 minutes before
serving.
